Dr Chris Hill

Chris is passionate about trauma care and loves being part of the team at Southampton and Wessex. Having been a consultant in Emergency Medicine for 9 years and working on the Air Ambulance for 8,he has had plenty of direct opportunity to help some of our most injured patients across the region.

Having taken on the role of Deputy Director for Major Trauma at UHS almost a year ago he has found this a new opportunity to shape the care for our patients by helping to improve many of the systems and processes involved in trauma care, after all: Individual aspects of trauma care are not especially difficult but our next major challenge is to find better ways for the multiple professions, specialities and people to work more effectively together for the needs of these complex patients

Mary Vincent

Senior Manager Neuro Community and Outpatient Services

Specialist Neuro Physiotherapist, Independent Non-Medical Prescriber

Following completing my physiotherapy degree training at Birmingham University in 1995 I moved to work as a Junior Rotational Physiotherapist at Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham working in a variety of specialties. In 1997 I took a position as a Senior Rotational Physiotherapist working at Manchester Royal Infirmary, where my interest in neuro physiotherapy grew whilst working on the acute neurology, neuro-surgical and stroke rehabilitation wards and with neuro outpatients.

My passion of working with neuro outpatients and developing neuro community services continued to blossom when I re-located to Southampton in 2004. From 2004 to date, I have worked to develop the provision of services offered to our Neuro Outpatient Community. I now manage the Southampton Community Neuro Rehab Team, including Specialist Nurses in Multiple Sclerosis and Epilepsy, Transition Therapy team and the Neuro Rehab Gym. Alongside my managerial commitments I have always strived to keep patient care at the heart of my work, and continue to work clinically, advancing my clinical practice, with a special interest in spasticity management.
