Trauma Academy
An exciting new development is happening in the Wessex Trauma Network – the establishment of the Wessex Trauma Academy. The intention is to identify all the different educational activities related to trauma care that happen in the network so that we can increase accessibility and prevent unnecessary duplication.
The intention is to create an online calendar on this website to help us all better utilise the available opportunities and improve trauma care overall. So if you are running a course locally, please let the team know via majortraumacentre@uhs.nhs.uk
Education Leads
- The MTC takes the lead on education for the Trauma Network. There are 2 posts, one medical and one Nursing / AHP lead, they are:
- The Medical Education Lead post is presently gapped.
- Lisa Herod who is a Therapy Lead in the Wessex Spinal Unit and is the Nursing / AHP Lead.
Their aim is to create a sustainable and accessible education programme for the MTC that can be rolled out / accessed by the rest of the network.
